Consultations: For Clients

"One of the luxuries of being in practice so many years is that I am able to work with people who want to make changes in their lives. My experience with a wide range of people and clinical issues has taught me to value the unique strengths and needs of each person. In my private practice I work with adults, couples and groups. I also teach and consult with other therapists, to help clients get more out of their current treatment.  It is a joy to be able to help in so many different ways."

Consultation for Clients already in therapy

Sometimes it helps to get an outside or second opinion when you and your therapist feel stuck, or the issues you are dealing with are not in your therapist's area of expertise. Rather than starting with a new therapist, clients who have a good working relationship with their current therapist can benefit from time-limited consultation with an expert in medical issues, chronic pain or other areas. By seeing a new therapist whose role is to give a second opinion to assist with ongoing therapy, clients and their therapists benefit from the input of a specialist in issues that come up when illness and pain disrupt a person's life and balance.

Consultation with Self Help Groups and Organizations

Most illness-related organizations and large self help groups want to offer self-help groups either online or at their meetings. I have worked with the Arthritis Foundation, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation among others. I have helped each of these organizations make their self-help groups safer and more meaningful places for their members. I am available to train, lead staff in-service trainings and consult.
